Turbine House

Lochgilphead, Argyllshire

Sleeps: 2

» Price Range pw: 350-542

The Turbine House was originally built to provide power to Ellary Estate. It is a charming traditional cottage that has been tastefully modernised to provide accommodation with outstanding character. The conversion has included multiple French door to the adjoining decking. The doors allow uninterrupted views of the adjoining policy gardens which are laid out informally including wooded areas; there is also a small burn running through the garden. The turbine house is accessed by parking in a lay-by on the road and then through a gate down some steps to the cottage. Its location provides peace and tranquillity.

A holiday at Ellary and Castle Sween is interesting to anglers who can obtain permits to fish the Lochead Burn (salmon and seatrout) as well as other burns on the estates and a great many trout lochs; to cyclists and mountain bikers who can explore most of the estates on the private estate roads and tracks; to photographers and golfers. Some will want to come simply to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, which is probably the main attraction of Ellary and Castle Sween.
